I am a researcher in the Department of Software Science of the School of Information Technologies at Tallinn University of Technology. I am part of the Applied Artificial Intelligence group. My research interests include semantic web technologies, web service composition and a number of related problems, like semantics and security of services. Recent research directions also involve spatial data analysis.
My PhD thesis Composition of Web Services on Large Service Models proposed a semi-automatic approach to service composition that used service models with visual and formal representation and a structural synthesis of programs for automating the web service composition. The thesis was supervised by Enn Tyugu from Software Science Laboratory of Institute of Cybernetics and Peep Küngas from University of Tartu.
I am involved with a model-based software development platform CoCoViLa and have been fascinated by robotics. In addition, I spent quite a few years as a system administrator at the Institute of Cybernetics.
Starting from April 2019, we have worked with Reach-U as part of the project "Applied research for creating a cost-effective interchangeable 3D spatial data infrastructure with survey-grade accuracy", where I have been part of the team, that analyses and assesses the existing spatial databases.
Since May 2017 until June 2018 TTÜ Department of Software Science members were working with Thermory AS in order to develop industry and production specific algorithms for automating the planning of materials and resources in the factory. The project was part of the "Applied research in smart specialisation growth areas" measure. One of the results of this project was a short survey on scheduling algorithms and systems written in Estonian.
Since September 2016 until January 2017 TTÜ (Open University and Institute of Cybernetics (2016)/Department of Software Science (2017)) together with Aktors OÜ developed teaching materials for developers of X-road data services' interfaces. Materials are freely accessible from Information System Authority’s Moodle (in Estonian).
